Don’t overload yourself, especially if someone close is trying to talk you into making a long-term commitment you’re really just not too sure about. Listen to your feelings — if they tell you to hold off, there’s almost certainly a good reason for it. Most importantly, don’t try to just be nice and say ‘yes’ to everything that everyone asks from you — that road leads only to disaster. Hold off for a while before asking for more.

A friend could be very influenced by your comments, so make sure to keep sarcasm to a minimum. Give solid advice instead of wisecracks. The power to inspire a pal should never be taken lightly.

Think your strategy through from A to Z. Then just to be on the safe side, think about it from Z to A and back again. And have a Plan B. Your partner is impressed by your thoroughness. So are you!

Strutting around is tempting, but being low key about any money you make is much more valuable, not to mention taking the high road. Being pompous will only alienate the very people who helped you accomplish your financial goals.
